This is for anyone who's gonna get there bike MOT'd soon.
If you aint heard- they've changed the rules and the price. Yup, it's now £23.80 for the test and they've done away with the old system where if your bike/car fails on anything you were given two weeks to fix it and then would be given the pass cert. Now if it fails on anything you get no time and you have to pay the full cost of the test all over again!!!!
So make sure you don't leave it to the last day (like I did - though mines passed) and make sure everythings sweet as these rules put things in favour of the tester - ie, it's gotta be in there interest to fail you as you have to pay them another £23.80 to get the pass cert!!!
Yeah, same for cars now too. For what it's worth, the MOT testers absolutely HATE the new computerised system.
What you need to do is, like me, find an MOT tester who knows you well and will then pass the car/bike even if it fails because he knows that you'll fix anything that needs it as soon as you get it back to the workshop
true, true. but with all new rules there all new loop holes. you just gota know an mot tester to find them out.
here's one for you:- theres no day time mot now, if you have no indacaters (sorry spellin) on ya bike, dont put them back on just cover the head light and brake light with gaffa tape and it will fly throw the MOT and still be ride able at night

well ther is but they messed up with the paper work that they print it out on so thers a note on the main system but ur copy is cool for producers and stuff which is cool also if a scum bag trys to get a mot on a niked bike it shows up imediatly on the system screan flashes red iron gates come down from the celing and the police are notified tho the co,puter without the mot man touching a button! which is cool protection if u ask me
Yeah theifs manage to find loopholes aswell, despite everything being computerised and photographed right left and center.
The V5's been computerised for years but they manage to forge them ok. They can even nick em' then list em' on fleabay for sale - pretend to buy them and convince the old bill that they bought it "in good faith".
Thats what happened with my R6!!!!Old bill had the bloke in they're station - bloke hits them with the ripping yarn - and they let him go!!!!!!
