I am going on track again on the 10th March (weather permitting) Mallory Park with Hottrax again £79 for the day. 98db noise limit applies. (my acrapovic puts out 96db!)
Anyone wanna come and play?? I am gonna go in the Intermedaite group, with a mate of mine in the novice group, and I will again be taking the van with tools and a good mechanic to help me out. I am sure he will offer help to any of my friends for a nice tip!!
Let me know guys, and click the link to read more about the day

I know hottrax very well so if I'm going which will be weather and conditions dependant, I'll blag my way on at the last minute. (fast group). Sure Pete will be interested in joining us, possibly a few others.
I normally book into a hotel up there the night before. The one I use for Mallory has a 'Trust Bar' where you help yourself and write down what you had.
I got there early last time and before any of the others.... was pissed by the time they arrived and had gone off to bed... LOL
...BUT... I got up and came back to the bar for more.. Ha !!
I might be up for that, I've never done a trackday, and it's about time maybe. I suppose it's always a gamble with the weather. How long do you leave it before you book Marlon?
I booked brands 2 days before. But you have to keep an eye on the availability, they are colour coded. It is currently green, meaning loads of places, if it goes yellow, time to make up your mind, if it goes red, too late!!
Basically we all hope it stays green for as long as poss, to try to judge the weather as best as poss!!
Yeah no worries mate... I can get another bike on my trailer if there's only two of us. I'll leave on the Friday night, most likely straight after work though as I'll be up the M40 already that day. Probably have dinner in the hotel too.
Bikes will have to be loaded up Thursday night though.
I'm not going to book it, I'll blag my way on when I arrive and if it's shite weather I'll just stay in the hotel or come down and take some pictures.... Nah... sacrilage you know if I'm up there even if it's pissing down I'll be on the track. It'll just be a pain in the arse with the Mr Sheen...
Might even take both my bikes up there like last time, the KTM was awesome at Mallory.
Nah it's probably getting full as we've had a bit of decent weather people itching to get out and crash their new bikes and all that... low prices get people interested.... I guess the answer is book early. A regular trick.
I'll still be having a word with Karen though haggling for a discount.
Yeah will be glad to help Marlon. I've got a little bit of sway with hottrax. Does depend a lot on space and availability though.
What group are you aiming for? Reason I ask is that Novice & Inters usually fill up quickest and are the hardest to get into but due to crashes etc are usually the easiest to get into on the day as space will become available. Worst case you might have to skip a couple of sessions. It'll be cheaper then anyway.
Pete and I will be in Fast group which usually has a bit more space and availability.
As i said, I'm not going to make a booking until the day but I might phone ahead one day next week to let them know I'm coming. Drop me an e-mail with the names (youself and your mate) and what group and I'll see what I can do. I take it, it is hottrax. I also know the guys at No Limits.
Let's hope it stays dry... right well my hotel is booked so I'm defo gonna be there. Still ain't booked on the track tho... will do that on the day hopefully in the morning... LOL
Well it's looking good at the moment. Weather forecasts wet all week then dry on Sat. Availability's still green. I'm assuming I should go in the novice group even though I'm quite quick on the road????
If you havent done a trackday before, then maybe best to go in the novice group, but if you are normally quick, you may find you are tearing past a lot of people!! It's fun anyway, or maybe you can get moved up into the inters. They sometimes allow that.

On the track rules are very different than the road.
If you really haven't got a clue what you're doing on the track or are a bit wobbly in the corners then novice group is good. But people hog about 6 different lines on the corners (because they haven't got a clue which is fair enough) and this can be a bit frustrating if you're more confident.
Inters is probably better if you're confident with your bike, but be warned, all the assholes who think they're rossi reside in this group too... They're too shit scared of the fast group and lack ability so terrorise the inters showing everyone how fast they are. They will normally either crash or be singled out and bollocked by the instructors.
Track discipline is pretty good usually though and people like that usually learn a short sharp shock, often with a binned bike at the end of it.
Just remember, you there to learn a different style of riding, rules are different, above all its not a race and you're responsibility is for the rider in front only and you'll be fine. Treat it as a good day out with your mates and you'll do just fine. There are plenty there who will give you advise and don't be scared to ask an instructor to take you round a few laps if you think it will help.
There are plenty of people who ride fast (really fast) on the road and could hold their own (up to a point) in the fast group but out there it's a totally different ball game. Being in the fast group is not about your all out speed, it's how you react to others who are much faster.... for instance, If you won't bat an eyelid being passed at 170mph with inches to spare or having someone go under you or wipe out right in front of you when you're 6 inches off his back tyre then the fast group is for you. People in this group generally know what they are doing, are quick anyway and more importantly know how to take evasive action, or carry out proper safe high speed manouvres and are not upset by others doing the same.
I've clanged shoulders with people in this group in corners and been passed with inches to spare with a 50mph speed deficit and had the guy in front low-side off while I'm right on his ass... (or her ass once actually - some bird on an R1).
It's a great day out and if you allow yourself you'll learn a lot and come back in one piece with a set of knackered tyres and a grin from ear to ear.
Mostly dry on Thursday but rain likely later in the day. The rain clearing during Friday morning to be followed by sunshine and showers. Mainly dry and bright on Saturday.

Yup - I'm there. Inters is full anyway, and novice is almost full so I got on that one. Give me the chance to get to know the scene and maybe go steaming past some people - he he. By the way are sparky sliders allowed? I heard somewhere they're not????
